I haven't tried it but I rely on Noise Ninja ... partly because I don't very much need noise help with the D700, partly because Noise Ninja is good, and partly because of habit.
How good do you find the noise reduction Sam? Habits should be updated once in a while ... but I haven't tried much of it. I'm still struggling with what I think is lack of knowledge about getting texture out of Lightroom files. I've tried all sorts of sharpening approaches ... but I just think that I'm doing something wrong or that Lightroom is simply second rate (next to capture one and especially Raw Developer) about getting texture out of a file where it should be. So I've been turning the noise stuff off.
I'm not a real fan of ACR's NR, but doing event work where we're printing onsite we don't really have a choice. The D700 is great, but we're pushing the limits - I'm usually shooting at least at 3200, if not 6400 or higher. NR has been its weak point for years.
I have to run right now, but I'll do some tests comparing LR 2 files to LR 2.2 files and see if I can establish that they've changed (improved) things.

Is it just me, or is Lightroom 2.2 rendering a finer "grain" of noise now? The output looks a lot less "chunky" to me. Anyone else notice this?
I finally upgraded and yes, it looks like they made a change.
So far in my comparisons I'd have to say that it doesn't appear that the underlying noise levels or characteristics have changed, so if there is a change it would have to be at the noise reduction stage.
