One of this moments when you wish you could lay down in the mud for a better angle and the situation doesn't allow!

The grip availability is getting a little nutty. I can't even get a response from NPS.

Got mine last week with a lot of difficultly. The dog shots I posted above were thanks to the new grip chugging along at 9 fps. My dealer in Delhi, India got only two pieces.

The grips are around. I ordered mine with my D850 on September 8, and it came a week after I got the camera (which was around a couple of weeks ago).

I've been checking B&H, Adorama, Samy's, Crutchfield, Amazon, Best Buy, Robert's and pretty much anyone that carries it with no luck.

I have mentioned this in the Leica R series thread, but I thought this might be useful for those just starting to use MF on the D850.

I previously used some MF on the D810 but was not thrilled but was very good.

On the D850 it is excellent. The reason is that the the AF dot confirmation is fast, responsive and very accurate for all my MF lenses do not require any fine tune adjustment.

The white dot at the edge of the screen does take some practice but it is accurate with the 50 Cron R and several other lenses. It would be nice if there was a sound confirmation as the focus hit target and maybe a slightly larger confirmation within the OVF.

I have mentally set in my mind to turn the focus ring towards the head of the arrow as this is very intuitive and fast while I have the focus dot in my peripheral vision. This really speeds up the technique and I find it as fast now as using a RF

Charles quick question about the focus dot. my otus 55 seemed alittle off so i thought about fine tuning, wasnt sure if manual focus lens needed it or not.

so i set up my gear, focused till confirmation dot was solid, no wavering, took the picture of my target. It was back focusing. All i did was change the fine tune setting in camera till my focus was spot on at plus 9 while never touching the focus ring.

Does this sound correct? im also using the nikon magnifying eye piece which is a fantastic help.

hope you understand my question lol.

Michael would be better suited to answer this question as he has the Otus 55 But it sound perfectly correct to fine tune the focus confirmation dot to your Otus 55. The fine tune correction should apply for future shoots.

Thanks for the heads up!
