Here are a few shots with the 300mm f/4. Still waiting for some decent light , but hey you take what you have and try and make the best of it

Suggestions always appreciated.

Really nice, Birdie! You definitely made the most of the light that you had. The third one caught my eye for its painterly aesthetic. Great processing!

Very nice set, Birdie! Didn't think you could do bee-in-flight shots with the 300!

One thing I love about the M1ii and the PL100-400 is that I can keep it in my lap while Poof is driving, keeping the heavier stuff packed up in the back. My first Black Winged Stilt nabbed in Utah last month.

Another nice group Mitesh. Love the first cub and one with the adult in the tall grass .

MM, lovely shots. I would love to photograph the spoonbills and I love the stilts, such graceful birds.

Diego, marvelous shot. Makes me want to try a fisheye lens.

Birdied thanks so much!

Diego, I'm bowled over

Mitesh, well you know how I feel about that cub.

We're such a small family of M1ii shooters here, ever wonder why so few? After having
quite a few bodies the M1ii is still #1 for pleasure of use. We're headed on a trip soon and
the M1ii will sit in my lap or beside my leg the entire trip just like it has for quite a few past trips.

MM, having only been active on the Wildlife board, I would think it is due to auto focus , maybe lack of megapixels and dynamic range , but I'm only guessing. FX/DX has some marvelous gear to choose from . Unless something necessitates a change, I don't think most look to change systems that they are happy with.

The more I use the camera and really start to grasp what it is capable of, the more fun I have with it. Still have a way to go with it though.

Just one bee in a sea of green.

And yet another butterfly shot with M1II and 40-140 2.8 Pro. Still out of season for pretty birds in Arizona

Sparadise agreed, that is 10 star imagery.

When shooting at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine this guy shows up, evidently
one had not been seen there before.

Nice shot, MM.

I found it interesting to learn that Brown Pelicans were almost entirely wiped out in Florida by pesticides and environmental issues. They have made a great comeback and we see them all the time, now, when we are in New Smyrna Beach.
Got this one about a week ago. Their heads turn white when they are mature, from what I understand.

One interesting thing I remember reading about them: they don't usually die of old age. Instead, they end up going blind from crashing into the water for prey (no eyelids to protect their eyes) and starve.

^now that's a Brown Pelican! Awesome BIF.
Sad to hear how they die though. Kinda like polar bears starving once their teeth are gone.
