p.1 #1 · 40D to 1DmkIIn- any tricks or tips???

Just recently purchased a 1DmkIIn and expect delivery Monday.

Upgrading from a 40D, prinicipally to shoot sports. My present 40D workflow is to shoot RAW, open and process in Lightroom then run a Photoshop CSII action for sharpening and noise reduction (Noise Ninja).

I am looking for any tricks or tips to help switching to the 1D (eg camera set-up) and/or changes I'll need to make to my workflow.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,
I just made the same move.
Didn't change any workflow.
I went threw the manual to check settings and controls.
I don't think some of the controls are as easy as the 40D. Don't expect to charge
the battery and run off to shoot a fast moving gig without some practice. :-)
Lift some weights! It doesn't fit like a glove like the 40D.
You will love the faster AF.
I'm currently waiting for the MK 3 to arrive. I hope the controls
are more like the 40D.
Enjoy,
Dave

It's all in learning the menus & how to change settings. Not at all like what you are used to.

Yes, they are quite similar as I own a MkIII and 40D.

Yes they are, however if you get a bunch of them they just fight amongst themselves....

1D II (N) files need some more sharpening but can take it. Apart from this the work flows are similar.
