p.1 #1 · Cant decide between Lowepro Flipside or Slingshot
I'm going to carry a 40d w/28-135, possible 430exII, 50mm 1.8, tokina 11-16 and possibly a zoom or macro.
I like the speed for the slingshot but the flipside has the good security feature if walking through a crowded area.
Cons on the slingshot could be design, if you walk through a tight area and turn in the wrong direction it looks like you could end up putting the backside of your camera's lcd against a tree trunk or brick wall. Flipside has the camera vertical so not too many worries there. The tripod mount on the flipside could easily be opened for thieves which is a worry...kind of puts a "hey look at the camera guy" target on your back.
Im leaning towards the flipside...just one question, how much of a difference in size is there between the 200 and 300? The specs show maybe 2 or 3 inch difference, but does it actually make a difference?
p.1 #2 · Cant decide between Lowepro Flipside or Slingshot
I don't like the Slingshots, I don't like they way you have to wear them. I have the Flipside 200, it's not my main bag, I use it when I just want to carry a body and couple of lens. I used it for a trip w/ 5D and grip, 24-105 15FE and 70-200 F4IS, I think I may have had my flash as well. With grip it was tight but doable.
