I climbed a ladder to do the shooting. Wish I had a 5d. I figure if I say it enough my camera will turn into one. Paul, Please shoot your wife with the lens, I predict she will be pleased. And show the photos please. Johnecon, I am the wrong person to ask about converting other minolta rokkor lenses. I have seen that an 85 1.7 can be done on these forums but not sure about the 1.4. cogitech Offline Buy and Sell: On p.1 #9 · Shot my wife with my Rokkor 58 The MC 58/1.4 can be converted almost identically as per my 58/1.2 howto http://www.cogitech.ca/Rokkor/index.html The only difference is you'll want to use an OM-EOS adapter for the new mount, because it has a larger mouth, which will prevent aperture pin issues. The conversion of the 85/1.7 is quite different, but not too difficult. I plan to make a howto page for that one, too. Jul 24, 2008 at 08:35 PM

tootalew Offline Image Upload: On p.1 #12 · Shot my wife with my Rokkor 58 John This is the flange on the camera itself. If you were to do this, you could only mount minolta lenses to your camera. Well I do know that there are m42 to minolta adapters so you could mount m42 also. This is not recomended for the 5D, unless maybe you shave the mirror. Could you elaborate on heartily recommend. Does it help you focus only in the center of the screen? Are you using a crop camera or a full frame? Thanks, John >Not the center only - I find the screen beneficial on all parts, including focusing on areas outside the circles, but keep in mind that for the most part of my photographing life I have used MF only. >20D - 1.6x crop (soon receiving a 1D hopefully with 1.3x crop) >Depends - with a 35mm f3.5 not easily, but easy enough with a 50mm (like an 80) which is anywhere from f1.4 to f5.6-8 and my 105 (like a 168) anywhere from f2.5 to f8-11 I have some posts with examples of different photos, showing how well focusing works out for me.
